The Research Integration Core (RIC) serves a unique purpose by connecting basic science investigators with public health professionals to develop interventions that address health disparities. Through participation in this type of research, scientists can collaborate with community members to identify relevant research questions and develop interventions to address these disparities. Additionally, scientists can utilize their expertise to advocate for policies and interventions that promote health equity.

To accomplish these objectives, RIC works in partnership with the Community Engagement Core (CEC), under the leadership of Dr. Veronica Ajewole. The CEC's role is to relay information on health disparities from the community to our users, as well as support community education initiatives. This bi-directional exchange of knowledge will foster mutual benefits for both researchers and the community.
